Pooled Human Serum (PHS)

Pooled Human Serum (PHS) is collected from AB blood groups of non-transfused fasting male donors. The PHS contains no anti-coagulants and is heat-inactivated to remove complement activity.
(non-heat inactivated upon request) Bulk quantities available.

Pooled Human Serum sold by Labquip Ltd is collected at FDA-licensed commercial donor centers within the USA. Each unit is tested and found negative for: HBsAg, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, HIV-1Ag or HIV 1-NAT, ALT, and syphilis by FDA-Approved Methods.

Each lot of Pooled Human Serum (PHS) is aseptically pooled and sterile filtered.

RECOMMENDED USAGE:

In Cell Culture: as a protein supplement, the recommended concentration for support in cell culture for each lot of Pooled Human Serum ranges from 10-15%. This should be considered a guideline and we suggest each laboratory further evaluate the Pooled Human Serum to establish optimum concentration for their individual use in cellular assays.

Pooled Human Serum is also used as Negative control in Elisa and in serological HLA Typing. Pooled Human Serum can also be used as a diluents or negative control in microlymphocytotoxicity and flow cytometric assays. PHS supports Mixed Lymphocyte Culture (MLC) and Mitogen (PHA) Response.

Quality Assurance also includes testing for sterility, pH, osmolority, presence, or absence of Mycoplasma, endotoxin and presence of Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA Ag) by Complement Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity (CDCC) and flow cytometry.

For Use As A Cell Culture Protein Supplement Or As A Negative Control Reagent

Negative control serum is a pool of sera aseptically collected from whole blood.  The whole blood is collected from non-transfused male donors of ABO type, AB.  This material was tested and found to be non-reactive for hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg), Anti-HIV and Hepatitis C.
